Niger/Niger recovers 43 billion FCFA “diverted and squandered by certain unscrupulous compatriots”


The fight against poor economic and financial governance undertaken by Niger, since the coming to power of General Abdourahamane Tiani, has made it possible to recover some 43 billion FCFA as of April 19, 2024, according to the Niger Press Agency. 

“As of April 19, 2024, the total amount of recoveries amounts to 42,930,622. 813 FCFA,” declares Colonel Abdoul Walid Djibo, president of the Commission for the Fight against Economic, Financial and Fiscal Delinquency (COLDEFF) cited by the ANP, after an audience on Friday with the President of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tiani,

“This sum includes the recoveries made in cash which amount to a total of 24,312,760,169 FCFA, and 18,617,862,644 FCFA for prospective recoveries,” explains the president of the COLDEFF

COLDEFF’s mission “essentially concerns the recovery of state funds having been misappropriated and squandered by certain unscrupulous compatriots,” recalls Colonel Abdoul Walid Djibo.
